When new companies come onto the Technically Talent platform, we do deep research to find out what makes them tick.

So, with 12 of these companies attending NET/WORK Philly next week, it only made sense for us to compile this CliffsNotes of sorts for local job seekers.

Here are a few odds and ends on these hiring companies, handy for planning/prioritizing your day, initiating conversation and general job-fair wayfaring. Good luck out there!

1. IntegriChain

The pharma-serving data analytics company adopted Penn Treaty School in Fishtown, where employees volunteer their time.

2. Inspire

The cleantech startup’s flagship product is a Netflix-style subscription to wind power.

3. Deacom

The logistics software company’s culture is grounded in the Kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement and personal growth.

4. Nava

The government-facing dev shop assisted the Obama administration in repairing HealthCare.gov after its rollout in winter 2013. (It’s also a public benefit corporation.)

5. Chariot Solutions

The enterprise software company’s culture of constant learning is on display at Chariot Day, where employees share side projects ranging from Arduino to meditation.

6. Azavea

The mapping firm builds geospatial data applications that change the world, and has worked with the U.S. Department of Energy, the World Bank and NASA.

7. Linode

The character of the cloud hosting company is best exemplified by Jonathan Leal, who transitioned from a construction job to a support role and is now a Systems Engineer.

8. WebLinc

The makers of ecommerce platforms use a buddy system to pair fresh hires with seasoned employees for getting new staffers quickly acclimated to the organization (and to ensure they don’t get lost in the multitude of Old City lunch options).

9. Perpay

The team behind the budgeting app decorated its beautiful Biddle Building office from scratch, complete with reclaimed wood floors, exposed brick and hanging plants.

10. ShopRunner

Conshy’s challenge to Amazon.

11. Vanguard

The Malvern-based mutual fund giant opened a Philadelphia innovation studio for research and development, at 2300 Chestnut, over the summer.

12. Practice

To get your foot in the door at this edtech company, which was recently acquired by Instructure, rehearse pitching its product. The pitch is a part of the software company’s interview process.
