Philly Startup Leaders (PSL), the decade-old nonprofit run by and for entrepreneurs, as of recently has had just two on-the-ground leaders in Executive Director Kiera Smalls and Head of Programs Jaclyn Allen.

In addition to recently announcing its new 2020 board members and advisors, the organization is also looking for a third, full-time staffer — a community engagement coordinator.

This person will grow and monitor PSL’s online and in-person communities to up engagement, founder development and resource sharing. They’ll also work closely with staff and contractors on planning and executing the org’s signature events and programs, such as Founder Factory and startup accelerator.

The organization is looking for someone with at least two to three years of marketing, communications, content development and/or community outreach experience and an interest in tech and entrepreneurship.

“We envision Philadelphia to be a place where everyone can achieve their entrepreneurial potential as part of a collaborative and innovative startup community, and we’re seeking a teammate who shares our passion for supporting the growth of entrepreneurship in our city,” PSL said.

This past summer, South Philly web development firm P’unk Avenue spun out one of its projects, Apostrophe, into its own company.

The product remained open source, but became Apostrophe Technologies, Inc.

“There was a demand for support, and that’s where we saw an opportunity for this great software to take on a life of its own with a business supporting it,” its CEO Alex Gilbert said in September.

Since September, the company has added roles in the product, project management and engineering fields, Gilbert said Monday.

And now it’s hiring a marketing manager who can help the company scale by increasing reach, generating leads and helping to sell its content management system to innovative startups, universities, Fortune 500 companies and more, the company said in the job posting.

This person can expect to wear many hats, the listing said, from creating content marketing strategies to marketing campaign build-outs as well as building out and managing a marketing team. Apostrophe is based in Philadelphia, but this position can be remote.

We here at Technically Media HQ are hiring, too: Check out our open positions for director of talent initiatives and office manager.

In a director of talent initiatives, we’re looking for someone who will work with our business development and client success team to onboard new clients who are seeking to fill their own open positions and introducing them to our services, such as Talent and Match.

“You are talent first; inspired by and hoping to serve individuals within their careers by providing them with a great candidate and recruiting experience,” the role says. “You genuinely care about the futures of our clients and how they are to evolve their technical programs to compete locally and globally.”

Additionally, TM is looking for a part-time (about 24 hours a week) office manager who can assist with financial operations and HR functions. Ideally, this person would have at least two years of administrative experience and have skills in areas like math and spreadsheets, organization and knowledge of programs such as QuickBooks.

Fishtown Analytics, an analytics consultancy firm, is hiring for three roles: a customer support lead, a full-stack software engineer and an events manager — not a role we see often at this type of company.

The firm’s current events slate includes in-person trainings and meetups, but this year, it’s also adding a user conference. The events manager can expect to develop event strategy and research, lead and execute in-person events and build relationships with vendors, partners and sponsors.
