We need ways to bring new people into local technical conversations. And we’re trying to do just that.
During Baltimore Innovation Week 2015, we at Technical.ly again held our Dev Conference, a three-part affair that is meant to be a place for both introductions and high-level interactions. The morning featured three introductory coding classes — in Sass, Node.js and JavaScript — that were a perfect early taste before longer 12-week coding classes or a chance for a refresh. The afternoon featured deep technical case studies, highlighted below, and then the evening called for a happy hour.
The entire day took place at Groove near Little Italy and was sponsored by PayPal, Message Systems, Red Owl Analytics, Traitify and Tenable Network Security, which, it must be said, raffled off the prettiest retro Atari you ever saw (Yair Flicker, the tech meetup staple and Smartlogic founder, won).
