MUST READS
123LinkIt celebrates one year since becoming a legal entity, noting that it is also celebrating 10,000 downloads from the WordPress plug-in directory. It’s giving new users a perk, too: all new users that sign-up by Friday will receive 100% commissions on affiliate marketing.

GIVE A GLANCE
A quiet new startup, offhold, which isn’t revealing all too much just yet but appears to be a service to help folks stuck on customer service phone lines, has opened shop in Philly. It’s based just down the street from Wharton on 40th and Walnut.
Ft. Lauderdale-based Saveology has launched a daily deals startup in Philadelphia, making it the newest of 27 markets for the company.
myYearBook‘s Geoff Cook has penned the story behind the $100 million sale to Quepasa, which is published over at paidContent.org. It’s a glimpse at the company’s belief that meeting people — a facet of friendship that Facebook doesn’t target — is an untapped market on social web. As Cook puts it: “This “niche” for meeting new people happens to be massive. If the core activities of the Internet are, as Zynga believes, play, search, share and shop – then meeting new people is an activity that unites them all.” And the primary reason for the sale? Global scale, Cook says, with Quepasa’s markets in Latin America.
As we predicted, the Science Center is staying true to its Coffee & Capital event, now a series. This week, Phoenix IP Ventures’ Osagie Imasogie will mingle with entrepreneurs, but be sure to register.
MIGHT BE WORTH YOUR TIME
For the media geeks and startup geeks alike: Diapers.com owner Quidsi (which, uh, is owned by Amazon) will be taking over Allure magazine’s web operations and giving it a stronger focus on e-commerce, says BusinessInsider.
Neat Company has announced that it has updated its NeatWorks Software for the new version of Mac OS X, Lion.
Beanstalk has announced Beansprout, an Android app for the service.
Viddler has added a social sharing panel to help disseminate video links.
Startup Roundup will post weekly on Wednesdays until there’s not a Philly startup story left to link to on the Internet. See others here, or sign-up for its email newsletter.

Companies: 123LinkIt / Beanstalk / Diapers.com / Neat Company / Quepasa
