Between sourdoughs, banana breads, no-knead loafs, and assorted (mis)adventures in experimental baking, stress and ample time at home has inspired this reporter — and, apparently, plenty of others — to explore the outer reaches of sifting and whisking. Thankfully, farms and restaurants across the DMV are now offering Community Support Agriculture plans to help make sure we’re getting our servings of fruits and veggies — and apparently it’s booming.

With shoppers reluctant to head to stores, CSAs have become a crucial lifeline for not only us homebodies now flirting with scurvy, but the farms that can no longer ship to the restaurants they once relied on for clients. DCist has the rundown (but, hey, if you want to pretend to be Dr. Frankenstein while you “give life” to your new sourdough starter, don’t let us stop you).

No fooling, last week marked the start of Healthcare Technologies Month here at Technical.ly. We’ll be focusing on how healthcare systems are coping with COVID-19, and what local tech communities can do to help. Talk about chutzpah! Double-price markups on hand-sanitizer and masks. Fifty-percent premiums for toilet paper. Fortunately, eagle-eyed watchdogs at Zentail in Columbia, Maryland, are keeping an eye on pandemic price-gouging on Amazon. Zentail’s director of growth flagged it in a post on the Zentail blog. Amazon, meanwhile, has suspended close to 4,400 seller accounts.
