Nemours is sponsoring NCCo’s first Youth Pride Festival on Sept. 30

New Castle County celebrates LGBTQ youth and families at this inaugural event.

Delaware has several annual Pride festivals and events, from Delaware Pride in Dover to to Delaware Pride Fest in Rehoboth Beach to Wilmington’s Pride Month calendar.

The Youth Pride Festival, the first of which will be held Sept. 30 at Minqudale Village in New Castle is different, with a specific focus on young people and families.

The event is sponsored by Nemours/A.I. du Pont Pont Hospital for Children, which opened a Gender Wellness Clinic for transgender youth in July, and is presented by LGBTQ nonprofit the FreeLee Foundation. Proceeds from the event will support the hospital.

Featured guests will include Sarah McBride, Ms. Mahogany, Ms. Troy, Rainbow Chorale of Delaware and Songbird the Goddess. There will be vendors, food and more, including kid’s activities, face painting and lots of resources for the young LGBTQ community

This free, family-friendly event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
