This month's Impact Solutions Meetup is Wednesday and features a lineup ready to offer real talk on making collaborations work.

As you may have heard way back in October, we have new offices in the Curtis Center. Thing is, major delays have kept us away from the real jawn and stuck in the temporary jawn for like six months.
That is about to change.
Our 12th-floor digs are almost ready (for real this time (peace out, 7th floor)), and before we can even throw a party up there our sister site Generocity is hosting an event. It’s their monthly social impact meetup, on May 11 from 6-8 p.m.

We’ll have drinks, food and a short program focused on the collaborations that are making a lasting impact on Philadelphia. There will also be lots of time for you to connect with other Philly leaders and check out our new HQ.
Here’s the speaker lineup, which aims to bring lessons learned and helpful tips on building community with partners:

  • Media Mobilizing Project’s Bryan Mercer will talk about some of the guiding principles the advocacy group uses to galvanize local movements. We’ll also get a preview of MMP’s new film, “Groundwork: Justice in the Birthplace of America.”
  • Urban Affairs Coalition’s Kate Rivera has helped lead the KEYSPOT program, bringing internet access to more than 20,000 Philadelphians. She’s also involved with the WorkReady program, which last summer employed over 1,500 youth. Find out how those relationships are managed.
  • The Free Library of Philadelphia recently brought together its business and nonprofit resources under one roof, to maximize how Philly citizens can get “good” done. FLP’s Gillian Robbins and Caitlin Seifritz will talk about how the two programs work together to equip the community.

These meetups are meant to help leaders in Philly succeed by getting into the nitty gritty of what works (and what doesn’t) for triple-bottom-line organizations. We want you to go home with tangible solutions. We also want you to talk to people you haven’t met before — so come ready to network and share ideas. Tweet using #ImpSolPHL to see the conversation.
