Curalate pilots new product with Urban Outfitters, Under Armour [Startup Roundup]

Zonoff announces a major partnership with Staples, insurance software firm InsPro Technologies raises $1.5 million and the Dorm Room Fund is now one-year-old.

WHO’S MAKING MOVES?

Curalate, the Center City visual analytics firm, announced the pilot of its latest product with a host of major brands including Urban Outfitters, Under Armour and Beauty.com, AdWeek reported. The product, FanReel, helps brands manage relevant hashtagged photos on social media and post them to their own ecommerce sites. “Social-generated images are creeping up on all of our marketing channels,” said an Urban Outfitters marketing manager. “That’s where our customers are.”

DreamIt Ventures‘ health IT spinoff, DreamIt Health, is launching in Baltimore, our sister site Technical.ly Baltimore reported.

Center City e-filing company Neat launched a touchscreen scanner that uploads directly to the cloud, according to a release. The scanner doesn’t have to be plugged in to a computer to be used.

Zonoff announced a major partnership with Staples yesterday. The Malvern-based connected home firm will drive Staples’ new connected home effort, in which it will offer “a connected home hub, an app and about 30 different devices online,” GigaOM reported.

WHO’S GETTING BUZZ?

Center City business analytics firm RJMetrics is profiled in Monday’s Philadelphia Daily News. The company is up from 26 employees in May to 37 and expects $5 to $10 million in revenue next year, founder Robert Moore said.

Cloudamize, Artisan and Alteva all got shouts in a recent Philadelphia Inquirer story about local mobile startups.

WHO’S GETTING FUNDED?

It’s the Dorm Room Fund‘s one-year anniversary. First Round Capital‘s student-run investment team is soon to be in four markets and has invested in 24 companies, according to an infographic.

ChargeItSpot, the Center City charging station startup, raised $50,000 and is looking to raise a $600,000 round, according to an SEC filing.

InsPro Technologies, an insurance software firm based in Eddystone, Pa., raised $1.5 million, according to an SEC filing. It raised $1.5 million in November 2012.
