Biopharmaceuticals firm Gliknik “has raised $4.9 million in a Series B round of financing,” according to the Baltimore Business Journal. The company, which creates “new therapies for patients with cancer and immune disorders” according to its website, is housed in the University of Maryland BioPark.

Canton-based Little Red Wagon Technologies has raised $850,000 of a $1,300,000 debt filing, according to SEC filings. In July, the company successfully completed a funding round of $100,000. Little Red Wagon’s Pinecone product “securely and reliably delivers e-mail and data to a mobile user’s device without using a third-party network operating center,” according to its website.
Venture capital firm Wasabi Ventures has hired Ray Thek as a venture partner “concentrating on the Baltimore/D.C. area,” according to a press release. Thek was the interviewer for the first Startup Grind at Loyola University Maryland in September.
A handful of Baltimore-area startups, among them NewsUp and Easy Web Content,  will make their way to Washington, D.C., tomorrow for the start of Distilled Intelligence 2.0, where they’ll participate in a two-day pitch competition for a chance to win $100,000 in funding.
WeddingWire, based in Bethesda, Md., “raised $25 million in equity financing,” reports the Baltimore Sun. The company, which provides a database of wedding vendors and venues, was named the 309th fastest-growing private company by Inc. magazine. (Inc. also happens to be the media sponsor for the InvestMaryland Challenge.)
