ZeroFOX, the cybersecurity startup that monitors social media networks, has a new R&D leader.
The company wrapped up an acquisition of Vulnr, a Chilean “stealth-mode security technology company,” the two sides announced Wednesday. With the move, Vulnr founder Mike Price will become ZeroFOX’s Senior Director of Research and Development, and lead the company’s research and development team.
Price formerly oversaw McAfee Labs’ first R&D branch in Latin America, which was based in Santiago, Chile. He then founded Vulnr, which focused on finding new methods of risk and vulnerability. ZeroFOX will integrate Vulnr’s innovations into its ZeroFOX Enterprise platform, company officials said.
In the fall, ZeroFOX and McAfee announced a partnership that integrated social media intelligence from ZeroFOX into McAfee’s security software. That followed an April 2014 move in which ZeroFOX brought two other former McAfee Labs employees on as vice presidents.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
