Herndon, Virginia-based DocASAP, developer of a patient access and engagement platform, has expanded its online scheduling platform to Indiana-based South Bend Clinic. Financial details were not disclosed.
The 104-year-old South Bend Clinic manages a chain of multi-specialty healthcare clinics in Indiana. Through this new deal, DocASAP’s platform will be used for telemedicine visits at South Bend Clinic locations in response an increased need for virtual health options due to COVID-19.
“While fueled by the COVID-19 crisis, telemedicine adoption will only continue to grow to meet patient demand for timely access to care as we move to a ‘New Normal,’” DocASAP cofounder and CEO Puneet Maheshwari said in a press release. “By navigating patients to the right provider and setting at the right time, we can help create a better patient experience, improve outcomes and reduce costs.”
This new partnership comes after DocASAP also launched a partnership with Baltimore-based LifeBridge Health in March to integrate its platform with LifeBridge’s practice management system. DocASAP has raised $27.4 million in venture capital since its inception in 2012, according to Crunchbase.
South Bend Clinic CEO Kelly Macken-Marble said the clinic integrated its practice management system with DocASAP’s online scheduling platform in less than two weeks. The platform automates each provider’s scheduling rules and availability, improving access to patient care, whether that be virtually or in person. Patients can also use DocASAP’s platform to ask providers questions about visits.
“As leaders in patient-centered, physician-led, coordinated care, it’s our responsibility to ensure our patients have access to the right at the right time,” Macken-Marble said. “The current health pandemic created an urgent need for virtual visits, and we knew that we needed to quickly adopt online scheduling to meet the growing demand.
On May 20 at 1 p.m., DocASAP is hosting a webinar to discuss how its platform has been successfully implemented into practice management systems. Jordan Pisarcik, VP of growth and customer engagement at DocASAP, will be speaking with South Bend Clinic COO Shannon Hubler and Chris Gooder, executive director at OBGYN West. RSVP online.
