Venmo has released new iPhone and Android apps which integrates Foursquare and Facebook locations, stats on usage, a more accessible recent transaction list, and a referral program that offers $1 per friend that signs on. Venmo is also mum on reports that Accel Partners recently listed Venmo as one of its portfolio companies. An email to the company was prompted with links to its already reported funders, $1.2 million in seed funding led by RRE Ventures.

Monetate last week announced that it signed on a new client, Onlineshoes.com, which utilize the technology for its e-commerce platform. The company also brought on a new Strategic Services Director, Nathan Richter, who was responsible for The Franklin Mint’s online business channel.
The Daily Pennsylvanian writes about PennApps Labs, an effort that has apparently culminated from the PennApps hackathon, which is an school-funded effort to create applications for the University, like a registrar API, book bazaar and study space finder. Heads up, Penn kids, they’re hiring.

Former DreamIt Ventures graduate SeatGeek, now based in New York City, announced an angel investment from none other than Ashton Kutcher and A Grade Investments, according to GigaOM.
