Phoenix-based nonprofit SEED-SPOT is hosting a two-day launch camp in Philly aimed at giving social entrepreneurs a biz boost.

Philly was among the first cities outside of Phoenix to host the 2-Day Launch Camp, a 48-hour dash to get socially minded companies in shape, in 2018. Using the organization’s social impact curriculum, a network of mentors and connection to peers, local organizers aim to help founders start, launch and grow their ventures.

The next event, organized in partnership with WeWork, will take place March 27 to 28 at the coworking company’s 1601 Market St. location.

“We are proud to continue supporting Philadelphia with more programming,” said C’pher Gresham, chief strategy and operations officer at the nonprofit. “We believe empowering local community organizers from Philadelphia to train and support entrepreneurs with the SEED SPOT curriculum and national resources will enable the ecosystem to flourish.”

“We’re thrilled to team up with SEED SPOT on this 2-Day Launch Camp, which will provide education, mentorship, and resources to Philadelphia’s brightest impact-driven entrepreneurs who are seeking to close that opportunity gap,” said Jim Ervin, WeWork’s community director for Philadelphia.

At last year’s Philly boot camp, the SEED SPOT program helped 10 impact-driven entrepreneurs that focused on eight of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Out of that group, 60 percent were women founders.
