Super Meetup Baltimore is back!
Super Meetup is a networking event (plus happy hour) of the most-connected members of the local technology, startup and entrepreneurial scene. It’s a chance to make new friends and learn more about local tech and entrepreneurial resources and tech-focused meetup groups.
If you’re new to Baltimore or interested in learning about the local scene, come on down. This year, Super Meetup comes to R. House in Baltimore on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m.

There’s going to be great food, awesome drinks and a lot of good conversation. But let’s dig into some of the best people and companies that you should be on the lookout for (they might have great swag, too). We’re highlighting career opportunities, ways that you can give back to Baltimore’s tech community and tools/services to improve your business. So, a little bit for everyone.
Discover new career opportunities:
Asymmetrik
One of the great things about Technical.ly events is that we bring together awesome people with cool companies. A lot of companies stick out in the Baltimore regions when we think about culture, but we want to focus on one.
Asymmetrik is a high-end technology and analytics firm with an agile methodology that enables maximum impact by tackling big problems with small teams. It also have a very dope culture. Once a year it brings the teams together for Star Wars night with the Bowie Baysox. It even gives team members and their families lightsabers (with sound effects) to enjoy the experience.
Asymmetrik is also doing some great work to improve lives through software development for healthcare organizations and the government. From its company blog, we read that software engineer Sumeet Shah is interested in work that can “change our lives and improve the human condition” and Asymmetrik’s healthcare team was the best place he could be fulfilled in his work.
To join Shah and Asymmetrik, stop by their table at Super Meetup or apply online below:
- Choose your own adventure (how cool is this job option!!!), software engineer, full-stack developer, front-end developer, and many more positions on its careers page.

Protenus
Every year, we cover the coolest offices spaces, and Protenus has one of the latest. Imagine walking into the office over cobblestone on Thames street or killer views from the office overlooking the harbor. Did we mention the hammocks in the office to relax and get the creative juices flowing?
The scene is set, but what about the work? Protenus is a world-class team of collaborative problem solvers, all focused on the same mission: building insightful solutions that remove barriers to the efficient, safe and effective delivery of patient care.
To learn more about Protenus and its office space, stop by its table at Super Meetup or apply online below:

- Conversation starter: Ask about its office hours.
You can help Maryland keep tech talent:
Maryland Technology Internship Program
The MTIP helps our state retain talent by partnering with companies to offer paid internship opportunities throughout the state. The Maryland Technology Internship Program can reimburse employers for up to 50% of an intern’s wage and up to $3,000 annually per intern. This is a win for the intern, your organization and your community. Internships provide real-life experience and exposure, we can create more of those opportunities in Maryland.
We are inspired by the future of the tech community when we read the aspirations of Chris Jeschke, CTO of Protenus: “Having been at Advertising.com and seeing what you can build in Baltimore, I really liked the idea of doing that again, pulling on a network of great people, great friends, and technologists and be able to bring them to Protenus and do the same kind of thing.”
Let’s build together, to find out more about the program stop by MTIP’s table or visit its website.
Build a better product:
SmartLogic
Custom web and mobile app development agency SmartLogic has worked with dozens of startups (as well as larger organizations) on projects ranging from isolated projects to full-scale products, rebuilds and more.
We have covered how SmartLogic has helped accelerate companies’ growth. Development can be tough, and working with SmartLogic can help you save time and lower stress. Let’s take a look at Arbit, a marketing intelligence company that helps brands better understand their target audience: SmartLogic helped Airbit validate their development work, according to Alex Bullington, cofounder of Arbit.
“Development is expensive — it’s even more expensive to build the wrong thing. It’s so helpful to get someone to guide you in the right way and help you take the right steps in product development,” Bullington said.
Find out more about their stress-free software development by stopping at its table or visiting its website.
