Andy Cipra, a former Procter & Gamble marketing executive, has joined Alexandria, Virginia-based Amify as the company’s new CMO.

The startup provides tech and services designed to help small businesses and brands maximize their selling potential on the Amazon Marketplace. This hiring announcement comes a few months after Amify secured a $5.8 million Series A funding round, where it promised to hire senior-level management employees and expand its marketing efforts.

In this new role, Cipra will oversee Amify’s second headquarters in Cincinati, Ohio, which was strategically placed near an Amazon hub. As CMO, he will work on Amify’s brand strategy and marketing efforts to help small businesses scale their presence on the Amazon Marketplace.

The company also recently welcomed three other executives since its funding announcement.

EVERFI, a D.C.-based provider of digital social impact courses, has named Bobby Moran as its new chief revenue officer. Prior to this role, Moran worked at Politico for more than eight years, and spent about a year and a half of that time as the company’s chief revenue officer. In his new role, Moran will lead EVERFI’s sales and customer success strategy while making sure these strategies align with all revenue-related functions in the company.

“I have been watching  EVERFI’s unique business model and partner growth for a number of years,” Moran said in a statement. “I look forward to working with leadership and internal teams to drive growth as we build a world-class social impact technology business.”

Reston, Virginia-based Hitachi Vantara Federal has welcomed Dr. Pragyansmita Nayak as its chief data scientist.

Hitachi provides federal government agencies with data-driven services. Nayak joins the team with 20 years of experience in software and data science research and development with an expertise for data intelligence, machine learning and analytics, specifically in the government tech sector. In her new role as chief data scientist, Nayak will work with the company’s customers to teach them how to better leverage their data through machine learning, artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics, per a press release.

“I look forward to working with this team to showcase and deliver the amazing end-to-end data solutions that Hitachi Vantara Federal has to offer,” Nayak said in a statement.

She attended George Mason University to earn her doctorate in computational sciences and informatics, after she earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from a university in India. Prior to joining Hitachi, Nayak worked for Apogee Research LLC as the company’s principal research engineer.

CompTIA has hired Cinnamon Rogers as its executive VP for public advocacy to work out of its D.C. office. She will focus on expanding the organization’s federal, state and international advocacy efforts, a press release states. Rogers brings 20 years of experience working in tech sectors within government affairs companies.

This announcement came with promotional news for other members in the association as well. Stefanie Holland was promoted to VP of federal and global policy and Alexi Madon moved up to VP of state government affairs. Holland previously worked as the company’s director of international government and regulatory affairs while Madon previously held the position of director of state government affairs in the Midwest.

Alexandria-based Research Innovations Inc. has hired Danny Holloway as its VP of deputy information and analytics. Prior to joining Research Innovations, Holloway worked as CTO for both HumanGeo and Radiant Solutions. The company said in a news release that Holloway is interested in solving problems and building teams while supporting customers.

Buchanan & Edwards Inc., an Arlington-based technology and intelligence operations consulting firm, last month appointed Tara Davey as CEO of its subsidiary company, The Reports and Requirements Company (R2C). Davey brings more than 14 years of experience in national security and joins the team from Northrop Grumman, a Fortune 500 defense contractor and global security company, where she supported national security customers and initiatives.

R2C’s former CEO, Katrina Barlow, will transition to a board member role with Buchanan & Edwards.

“I had the pleasure of working with R2C as a partner on national security efforts for many years, and I was consistently impressed with the quality of their team and the outstanding services they were dedicated to delivering consistently to our customers,” Davey said in a press release. “R2C has an excellent reputation in our customer community, and I am honored to have this opportunity to lead such a great company and serve alongside so many talented team members.”

Arlington-based Snag, a platform for job searching, has appointed Mathieu Stevenson as the company’s new CEO.

The company’s previous CEO, Fabio Rosati, will return to his role as executive chairman of the board. Stevenson will lead Snag with Rosati’s guidance, a press release states, since Rosati recruited Stevenson himself.

“We are excited about Mathieu’s appointment and believe he will become the best CEO in Snag’s history. Mathieu has the vision and passion to make Snag a world leader,” Rosati said in a statement.

Stevenson’s resume includes holding positions at McKinsey & Company, HomeAway, Capital One and most recently chief marketing and strategy officer at Blucora. He began working with Snag in January as the company’s CMO, before getting promoted to CEO this month.
