According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, data science jobs are projected to grow 19 percent between 2016 and 2026, so a local coding school is making sure its students land those positions equipped with the right skills.
Washington, D.C. coding bootcamp Flatiron School is launching a 15-week Data Science Fellowship in the District running from April 22 to Aug. 2, 2019, with a focus on data and STEM. Flatiron is launching this fellowship in the District because of the high concentration of education, healthcare and government entities in the district, all of which are demanding skilled data scientists to innovate and accomplish business and policy goals, Flatiron’s PR manager told Technical.ly.
Apply todayThere will also be a second fellowship class running from from June 3- Sept. 13, 2019, but applications have not opened for that one just yet. Accepted students will study out of Flatiron’s D.C. campus where they will learn the practical skills to become data scientists. Josh Daniell, Flatiron’s D.C. campus director, said the coding bootcamp will be accepting applications until each class is filled with 20 students each.
Flatiron’s career services team will work with students to help them launch a career at the conclusion of the program. The prominent coding school is also offering full scholarship to the first two cohorts of the program slated for this year.
