After nine years with the Emerging Technology Center, vice president of operations Neil Davis will take a position with the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) as director of entrepreneurial development.
In his new role, Davis will “serve as TEDCO’s liaison with technology incubators statewide and will work to develop new strategies for supporting startups in Maryland,” according to a press release. He will also “manage TEDCO’s educational efforts for its portfolio companies, advise companies on business pitches to investors, and assist in planning the annual TEDCO Entrepreneur Expo,” the release said.
Founded in 1998, TEDCO is a creation of the state’s General Assembly that uses taxpayer dollars to make investments in early-stage startups. It has made investments in 234 companies in that time, and often through its Technology Commercialization Fund.
