WHO’S GETTING BUZZ

DuPont and one of it’s backers — activist investor Nelson Peltz — are at a standoff. That’s according to a recent article published in Fortune.
DuPont, on Tuesday, sent a letter to its shareholders in an attempt to squash what it called “misleading assertions” made by Trian (Peltz’s investment firm), which is gunning for four seats on DuPont’s board.
“In an attempt to advance their agenda, Trian has launched a proxy fight based on misrepresentations, inaccurate data, and flawed analyses to distract from DuPont’s track record of strong performance,” DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman said in the letter.
The letter, Fortune says, accuses Trian — which has a nearly 2.7 percent stake in DuPont — of using misleading statements to secure the board seats.
