DuPont de Nemours is courting potential bidders, including the Dutch company DSM, Ireland’s Kerry Group and the Swiss company Givaudan, for its Nutritional Unit, which currently has labs at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, Bloomberg reports. The value of the nutrition and bioscience division is believed to be around $25 billion.

According to Bloomberg, DuPont (aka the “new” DuPont, post-Dow merger and Dow/Dupont Inc. breakup) sent confidentiality agreements to prospective buyers; it appears that any reviewing of new deals will be complete by the end of the year.

Kerry and DSM are food and nutrition research companies that aim for solutions to sustainability issues such as food waste, product packaging and food safety. Givaudan is an innovation-focused flavor and fragrance company.

Currently DuPont’s nutrition and bioscience unit has about 50 open jobs. There is no indication whether Delaware jobs will be significantly impacted if a deal takes place.
