Next week looks like a packed one for designers in Philly as DesignPhiladelphia 2018 unfolds at tech companies, museums and studios across the city.
With 120 events on the calendar, the 2018 edition of this 13-year-old festival looks promising. But where should the tech set go? Here are some (some!) of the tech-relevant talks from the festival, which span from art exhibits featuring local makers to panel discussions on the intersection of design and innovation.
Drive Innovation with Design
On Oct. 4, head to Manayunk customer experience firm Hero Digital for a free panel talk on how local firms are approaching innovation through design. The lineup will be comprised of Robert Fisher, Executive Creative Director at Hero Digital; Cohere CEO and founder Antoinette Marie Johnson; O3 World Chief Experience Officer Mike Gadsby; and P’unk Ave Principal Geoff DiMasi.
“Design can and should be driving new opportunities in business and culture,” said Fisher in an email, when asked what attendees would take away from the event. “If we move beyond the mindset of problem solving, we can use design as a way to imagine a better, future state for our clients, cities and communities.”
