Within the last year, Comcast has lost two C-suite execs.
First, Chief Technology Officer Sree Kotay resigned last April citing “personal reasons.” On Tuesday, Comcast confirmed to the Inquirer that Chief Product Officer Chris Satchell resigned under similar circumstances. He’ll be relocating to the West Coast and joining a nutrition and health company.
Satchell, a Brit who moved to the U.S. in 2000, joined Comcast in 2015. Prior to that, he led a 1,600-person team inside Nike’s Consumer Digital Technology division. He also worked within Microsoft’s gaming vertical for seven years.
“While Chris has made it clear to me that he miss will Comcast — and particularly our vibrant product team — he has found an opportunity that’s closer to family, focused on disruptive innovation in the health and nutrition space, another of his passions,” said Tony Werner, Comcast’s president of technology and product, in a memo obtained by the Inquirer.
Per Inky reporter Bob Fernandez, the former exec’s duties will be split between Matt Zelesko and Fraser Stirling. Zelesko will take the dual posts of senior vice president for entertainment products and chief software officer, while Stirling will become senior vice president of digital home, devices and artificial intelligence.
