Ghouse Kamaludeen Senior Engineer“I get to see and be involved with the entire lifecycle of a product in my role at Comcast. I’m learning a lot about how to build the end to end project strategy which is integral in my career growth.”
Carly Beaumont Senior Manager of Product ManagementHow do you support employees at Comcast?
There are multiple ways we aim to support our valued employees at Comcast. One is encouraging each employee to develop an individualized development plan (IDP) annually. An IDP documents how an employee feels about their current role and where they want their career to go. This is a time for employees to openly explain what they do and don’t want out of their time at Comcast.
Mentorship also plays a large role in our company culture. When hired, employees can automatically be paired with a mentor to guide their growth from the onset of their time in the company.
Plus, we believe in supporting employees holistically, not just in terms of the tasks they are responsible for. To cultivate positive spaces within the company, Comcast offers Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups made up of members within certain communities so they have an inclusive and collaborative touchstone at Comcast. Examples of ERGs include Black Employee Network, OUT@Comcast and MyAbilities Network. Currently, 35,000 employees are ERG members.
Once I’m employed at Comcast, what will I learn?
As a large and multi-faceted organization, employees at Comcast have the benefit of internal access to any sector of work they may be interested in. If you start working at Comcast and want to learn more about another department or team, we will connect you to an employee who can teach you and mentor you.
We love to hire internally, meaning you always have the option for career advancement. Comcast will also offer tuition assistance for employees interested in continuing education. We believe your success is synonymous with ours at Comcast, so never hesitate to ask about any type of professional development opportunity.
What kind of people do well at Comcast?
We look for someone who is confident and can hit the ground running. It's very challenging in technology to be able to step into a role and know it all. But we look for someone who uses their existing skills in order to be successful at our company.
