In 2015, just one in 10 attendees of Chariot Solutions’ dev-focused Emerging Technologies for the Enterprise conference was a woman, according to Chariot spokeswoman Tracey Welson-Rossman. That’s just slightly better than the percentage in 2013, when 7 percent of attendees were women.
One way the Fort Washington-based IT consulting firm is trying to change that? For a second year in a row, it’s offering scholarships for the conference.
It’s for those who identify as part of an underrepresented group in technology — that could mean in terms of gender or race or sexuality, it’s up to the applicant to interpret that.

This year, scholarship recipients will also get paired up with a “buddy” who will help them make the most of the conference, said Welson-Rossman, who’s spearheading the effort with Azavea’s Hector Castro.

You can also get early bird tickets ($415) until they sell out. Uber engineering lead Raffi Krikorian is keynoting.
