Despite social distancing restrictions easing up in the region as we continue to face the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of local events are remaining virtual through the fall.

We at Technical.ly even announced that we’re taking our 10th annual Philly Tech Week completely virtual in September, with some online events happening throughout the summer.

Here’s a list of 10 virtual events happening throughout July:

Advancing Pediatric Research in the COVID-19 Era

JLABS from Johnson and Johnson Innovation is hosting this webinar where experts will discuss COVID-19 pediatric science. Panelists include execs from Children’s National Hospital, Children’s National Research Institute and Johnson and Johnson.

DMV Artists Virtual Studio Visit

As part of the By The People x Monochrome Collective Art Fair going on from June 26 to July 12, this event will feature a Zoom studio tour from a local artist. Halcyon is hosting the virtual art fair to highlight emerging and established artists in the D.C. region.

Emerging Innovations: A VC Tech Talk

Startup professionals from around the world are coming together to discuss the state of emerging technologies during a global pandemic at this event hosted by Tech in Motion DC.

Tech Virtual Career Fair

If you’re a mid-career tech professional in the Northern Virginia area, the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority is hosting this virtual tech jobs fair. General Dynamics Information Technology, ManTech International, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft are some of the hiring companies that will have recruiters at the event.

WITS 2020 Virtual Summit

The annual Women in Technology Summit is going virtual over a two-week span, covering topics like tech trends, programming, career growth and more for women in tech. Proceeds from the summit will go toward TechGirlz, a nonprofit on a mission to inspire middle school girls to explore technology more.

Commute+ Reimagined: Alternative Commute Modes Post COVID-19

As employees start planning their commutes back to work, TransitScreen is hosting this panel for experts to discuss safe commuting alternatives.

TEDxPearlStreet

This inaugural event will feature TED Talks from experts across various sectors including robotics, product development, social entrepreneurship and more. There will be musical performances and ticket holders will have a one-week viewing option after July 18 to view the event’s content. TEDxPearlStreet was filmed at Wharf-based event venue Union Stage.

Webinar: Learn Data Science With Thinkful

Vinetta DC: 2nd Semi-Final Pitch Competition

Vinetta Project DC is hosting its second virtual pitch event on July 28, featuring pitches from four semifinalist women founders. Two founders will be selected to advance to the final Venture Challenge event in the fall. The free event will be hosted via Zoom.
