Ping pong, says Laura Lopez, senior community manager at D.C. event tech startup Social Tables, is “almost a religion” around the office. Combine this with the company’s persistent interest in creating a central events space for the #dctech community in its HQ, and you’ve got the inaugural #dctech ping pong invitational.
For anyone in #dctech who has mad 🏓 skills, we're hosting a lil game here at the #STHQ on 9/7. https://t.co/sfQRUVWymR

Set to take place on Sept. 7 at Social Tables HQ on G Street, players will work their way through a single-elimination bracket until someone is crowned the king of #dctech ping pong. If you’re terrible at ping pong, you can also show up to cheer on the players. ?
Michael Dumont, Social Tables’ “ping pong main man” by virtue of his habit of Periscoping ping pong matches between Social Tables’ employees, hopes the event will yield a fun atmosphere for attendees to make new connections (#networking).
RSVP here — you’ve got just under two weeks to warm up that backhand.
