For this reporter, it’s a daily conundrum: coworking space or cafe? Which one shall it be?
But that’s just a rhetorical question for members of a new coworking space in Arlington: the Cowork Cafe operates inside the already existing coffee shop Boccato from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
“It is a mutually beneficial relationship, as our members also purchase food and beverage from Boccato,” cofounder David James explained in an email.
Cowork Cafe opened up earlier this month inside the gelato and espresso bar, located at at 2719 Wilson Blvd. in the Clarendon section of Arlington.
Monthly membership costs $200, including $50 in coffee shop credit. So far, the Cowork Cafe has already signed up 20 users, and is “signing up about one new member per day,” James said.
Here are more details on the layout:
Cowork Cafe members have exclusive access to business-class wifi, a printer, easily-accessible power outlets throughout the cafe, and private phone booths for longer calls or video conferencing. The space is open (except for the booths), with a variety of seating options including individual workstations, comfy chairs and couches, and standing-height tables. In the future, we plan to offer a small conference room and lockers for daily use.
