Overview
As a Sr. Director of Product embedded in one of our Software divisions, you belong to the functional team whose work encompasses product strategy, product delivery, product management & product operations.
You and your colleagues in Product Management specifically are charged with:
-Targeting R&D investments towards maximum value for customers and business ROI.
-Being accountable for decision-making, problem selection, and business outcomes.
-Guiding product lifecycle from ideation to development to go-to-market to scaled product-market-fit.

This role creates impact at the level of a portfolio (product line), drives work for 5-15 people (including other people managers), and sets goals in terms of outcomes and KPIs at the portfolio level.

Cross-team Collaboration: Manages known opportunities, including conformance with business models and strategic partnerships.
Judgement & Decision Making: Operates smartly within constraints & architecture (e.g., data model, tech stack), better-than-expected impact.
Responsibility for Outcomes: Uses instincts, novel data, and industry sense to enforce a high quality, wholistic product experience.
Research & Strategy
Stakeholder Engagement: Unblocks unforeseen obstacles to guarantee successful (biannual) releases, with responsibility to prevent collision risk from multiple teams working in parallel.
Data & Market Analysis: Places “bets” on new products, with direct influence over ROI and Profit/Loss.
Thought Leadership: Enables sales via complete packaging & pricing guidance, with duties that extend to product launch plans.
Organization & People Development
People Management: For their direct reports, mentors them to reach higher levels of performance and increases self- and other- awareness, with ability to negotiate compensation expectations.
Organizational Leadership: For the Product organization itself, solves root causes to unlock team growth and applies these as best practices to other teams.
Vision: Creates vision, and pivots as needed.
Must Have
Fastidious for facts, insistent on evidence- and data-driven choices, able to separate signal from noise
Systems-thinking and ability to predict or extrapolate to second, third, and fourth order effects (if A, then B, then C, then D…)
Adept at analytics, independent research, unscripted interviews, and other intel-gathering techniques
Not afraid to speak up and veto a bad idea, or have your ideas vetoed (our default is “NO”) in favor of what our team decided to prioritize next
Curious about our clients and products, cautious with our brand and industry goodwill, conscientious in follow-through
Willing to learn and serve, flexible in adapting to rapid organizational change, receptive of constructive criticism

Preferred
Ability to work in a remote position requiring constant spoken and written communication; skill in exerting influence (even on company founders, owners, and partners) without leverage or managerial authority
Education or qualifications relating to business, programming, data science, health sciences, medical writing, customer support, project management, or corporate communications
Experience working for a software-as-a-service (SaaS) vendor, clinical laboratory, pharmaceutical company, or Contract Research Organization (CRO)
