SIG is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with a focus on Virtualization and related Automation skills to join our team. This is a great opportunity to leverage your VMware and scripting skills to enhance our growing environment with automation and tooling.
You will take part in evolving the design of our growing virtual infrastructure that supports 6000+ vms running trade, trade support, databases and back-office server workloads
In this role, you will:
Be our subject matter expert as we continue to transition our physical infrastructure toward a more virtualized environment. This role will encompass both the architecture and design of our systems, as well as hands on implementation.
A large part of your role will be around automation to build new tooling, automate manual processes, evolve our existing tools and automation that scales to keep up with our growing environment
Assist with maintaining the enterprise virtualization environment (VMware), including troubleshooting, performance monitoring and optimization and capacity planning
Partner with our development and infrastructure engineering teams to unravel issues and ensure a smooth integration.
What we're looking for
Minimum of 2 years of experience managing and engineering VMware enterprise virtualization technologies required
Hands on experience with intermediate/advanced automation using Powershell/powercli and/or Python is required
Proficiency in enterprise monitoring tools such as Grafana, InfluxDB, graphite, Telegraf, ELK, Nagios a plus
Proficient knowledge of Linux and/or Windows (Server 2012 R2 or higher) operating systems required
Familiarity with kernel-level, network level (TCP/IP) and SAN technologies is required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or similar technical field required
