About SIG
SIG is a global quantitative trading firm founded by a group of friends who share a passion for game theory and probabilistic thinking. We have incorporated this approach into our culture, where you will find relentless problem solvers within each of our core disciplines: Trading, Technology, and Quantitative Research. From offices around the world, our employees collaborate to make optimal decisions and are driven by the desire to achieve winning results together.
What we do
We are experts in trading essentially all listed financial products and asset classes, with a focus on derivatives trading. Through market making and market taking, we handle millions of trading transactions around the world every day, providing liquidity and ensuring competitive prices for buyers and sellers. While our presence in the market is broad, our trading desks are highly specialized, allowing for a deep understanding of unique drivers of each asset class.
SIG is known in the finance industry for its expertise in quantitative trading, research and cutting-edge technology solutions. Our culture is strong and deeply embedded in our approach to business. We hire people who:
● Have an entrepreneurial mindset. We want everyone at SIG to think like a business owner. Our growth is driven by iterative and bold ideas. We are not constrained by traditional approaches and we thrive on creating innovative solutions to challenging problems. ● Make good decisions: We believe in a rigorous and analytical approach to decision making. Making good decisions is fundamental to success in the financial markets and in life. At SIG, we don’t teach people what to think, we teach them how to think. ● Collaborate: We believe that smart people working together will always come up with a better solution than the lone genius. We design our work environments to promote communication and to keep out unnecessary hierarchy and bureaucracy. Our collective intellect and wisdom are improved through discourse and debate. ● Have expertise and potential: We value the expertise of the people we hire and we reward people who are willing to push themselves and offer new solutions. We don’t have titles. We value each person’s expertise and we are always both teachers and students. What are some of the benefits you offer? Because balancing work and life is important, SIG offers many perks to make it easier. Employees enjoy a fully-stocked kitchen, daily catered meals and a relaxed dress code. In addition, whether you’re working out in the 9,000 square foot on-site gym, taking a fitness class or visiting the on-site Wellness Center, SIG’s commitment to wellbeing is clear. SIG also offers many on-site conveniences, including vehicle maintenance and detailing, a full-service mail room for employees to securely ship and receive packages and a variety of other perks. SIG has a vibrant social calendar, including company-wide events such as evenings at the Phillies, 76ers, Philadelphia Zoo, Franklin Institute and more. The firm even sent 50 employees — drawn at random, along with their guests — to Super Bowl LVII to cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, the Eagles did not prevail. If they had, all 2,500 SIG employees world-wide would have received a $1,000 bonus. **Note: portions of the content on this page were taken from an article previously published on the Philadelphia Inquirer website.**
