Editor’s note: Every week we ship an email newsletter featuring the region’s most exciting career opportunities. We’ve lovingly called it This Week in Jobs (aka TWIJ — “twidge.”). Below is this week’s edition; it’s meant to live in your inbox. Sign up for the newsletter here.
There have been many viral moments from the Olympics thus far, but chief among them might be Turkish pistol shooter Yusuf Dikec.
Last week, Dikec took home Turkey’s first silver medal in Olympic shooting, and he did so in the coolest way possible. Sporting casual attire, with one hand tucked in his pocket, Dikec took home silver seemingly without breaking a sweat.
He stood out in stark contrast from his competitors, many of who donned futuristic goggles and gear to aid in the accuracy, while most of them fell short to Dikec skills.
But, sometimes, all you need is sharp skills and confidence to get the job done.
If we can learn anything from Dikec, it’s that you don’t always need bells and whistles to stand out. Forget about a flashy resume format or LinkedIn gimmick — how can you showcase pure skills to future employers?
Keep it casual and confident with this week’s opportunities.
