who’s getting funded?

An Estuary, based out of the Emerging Technology Center at Johns Hopkins’ Eastern campus, has raised $100,000 in funding from the Maryland Technology Development Corporation. The edtech startup’s first product is a “social, mobile journaling tool for K-12 teachers” called Sanderling, as Technical.ly Baltimore reported in July.

who’s making moves?

Paul Palmieri, cofounder and CEO of global mobile advertising company Millennial Media, is getting a pay raise from $325,000 to $520,000, reports the Baltimore Business Journal. Millennial Media recently raised $175 million in equity funding, but it lost $4.6 million in Q3 of this year.
The BBJ also reports that nanontechnology company Pixelligent, based in the Holabird Industrial Park, has received a two-year, $1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, which Pixelligent will use “to advance its work in developing a fuel additive that would reduce wear on vehicle engines and fuel consumption.”
