MentorTech Ventures is raising a $35M fund [Startup Roundup]

WHO’S GETTING FUNDED?

MentorTech Ventures has raised $24.2 million so far for its third fund, according to an SEC filing. It’s looking to raise $35 million.

Benjamin Franklin Technology Partners invested $2.2 million in nine local companies, including cloud management startup Cloudnexa, GoodCompany graduate and edtech startup TuvaLabs and game developers Shenandoah Studio.

Osage Partners participated in a $32.5 million series C for Seattle-based biotech company Immune Design, according to Geekwire.

Comcast Ventures participated in a $60 million round for Nextdoor, the San Francisco-based private social network for neighborhoods, VentureBeat reported.

WHO’S MAKING MOVES?

Uber‘s Philly team left its home at coworking space Benjamin’s Desk to move into its own space at the Stetson Building at 13th and Sansom Streets, spokeswoman Meagan Norman tells us. The team now has four full-time employees.

Benjamin’s Desk has a new tenant, though: yet-to-launch startup Socialie, according to this tweet. Springboard Collective and ElectNext‘s Philly team now also have offices in the space, according to this tweet.

Tim Raybould is now officially TicketLeap’s CEO, according to a release. He was previously COO after founder Chris Stanchak stepped down. The move won’t result in any tangible differences, said spokeswoman Allison Berger, it just took some time for the board to “finalize the structure of leadership.” TicketLeap will not be hiring a COO, she said.
