Edited: the due date.
Maybe it’s because we spend too much time working from home, but Technically Philly has seen some wonderful offices as we cover this community. Unfortunately, the Philadelphia Business Journal disagrees.
Our pals at PBJ have compiled a list of the 56 best places to work in the city and unfortunately, not many technology companies made the list.
Now, to be fair, the selections are not an editorial decision by PBJ, but the results of a survey. The paper says that 85 percent of a company’s employees had to return a survey that asked workers to rank their workplace on several factors.
Curiously, despite being recognized by Inc. Magazine for being one of the best workplaces in the country, Azavea (formally Avencia) didn’t make the cut, but the companies below did:
- Digitas Health
- Comcast
… and thats it. Putting aside that 85 percent of local Comcast employees returned a survey (!), it seems that the local tech companies can’t stack up to other Philly workplaces.
But we know better, we’ve seen your sweet digs. So we ask you, dear reader, is your office awesome? Drop some knowledge (and photos, if you can) in the comments or @reply @TechnicallyPHL on Twitter and, if we get enough, we’ll gather them up into a post.
Photos can be of your great view, that sweet workstation you have set up, or the historic building you work out of – just show us something that would put other Philly workplaces to shame. We’ll run the best ones on September 8th.
Now, get going!
