The Wharton Business School MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania has been ranked the third best in the world by the Business Insider.
“Wharton is known for delivering talent who provide a strong strategic thinking perspective combined with exemplifying executive communication skills,” a General Electric recruiter told the New York City-based business and technology news blog.
Those rankings came after varying similar lists from U.S. News and World Report, which ranked Wharton third, Business Week, which ranked Wharton fourth, and the Economist, which ranked it ninth.
The Business Insider list came from a survey of industry experts and readers. Sixty three percent of those surveyed called Wharton one of the 10 best business schools in the world.
Of the world’s 10 best listed, only two were foreign — the French INSEAD and the London School of Economics. Wharton was the only of the 50 listed from the Philadelphia region, though Carnegie Mellon also represented Pennsylvania. Of course, we’ve all seen these lists come through before.
Perhaps those Wharton kids should hook up with the students at the school’s digital media design program and build businesses in Philadelphia.
