Good morning, Philadelphia and welcome to your first Event Highlights column of December.
There were tons of events this week, it was hard to choose just three. And remember, you can get these highlights delivered to your mailbox every Monday at noon. It’s a great way to plan the rest of your week.
This week: Play games, finish that programming project and meet your friendly Philadelphia journalists.
Philadelphia game scene – Philadelphia Game Lab has been operating behind the scenes for a few weeks now. The group wishes to eventually create a gaming-focused coworking and education space. For now, however, PGL is focusing on a series of meetups to help build community around Philadelphia’s ever-growing gaming community. The first one is this week at Barcade. Tuesday. 6:00 p.m. Fishtown. RSVP.
Code Shop – Web Start Women, the group dedicated to balancing the gender ratio in technology fields, has held a series of lectures and lesson on everything from HTML to jQuery over the past few months. This time, the group is going with the Q and A format and attendees are encouraged to bring problems they’ve encountered in their studies. It’s the perfect time to get over the hump. Tuesday. 6:00 p.m. Center City. INFO.
