You’re in luck Philadelphia.
Fall is upon us, the Eagles are undefeated and our event calendar is as packed as we’ve seen in months. Aside from the usual meetups and user groups, several events this week will have a lasting impact on our local tech community.
This week, PSL fishbowls itself, PennApps hacks and Temple shows off its student companies.

PSL “State of the Union” Fishbowl – After losing two presidents to other cities, Philly Startup Leaders is at a bit of a crossroads. The grassroots organization that deserves some of the credit for the recent local boon in early stage startups is in need of a refresh. After facilitating “fishbowl” events for other business, PSL is inviting the community to help frame what the group will be moving forward. If you care about the future of the city’s startup community, you should be there. Tuesday. 7:00 p.m. Center City. RSVP.
PennApps – Along with October’s Startup Weekend PennsApps is among the area’s premier hacking events. Hackers have 48 hours to create an application to be demoed to judges that include DuckDuckGo founder Gabe Weinberg, TechCrunch writer Jason Kincaid and Invite Media co-founder Zach Weinberg. Spectators are welcome and there are still tickets remaining. All weekend. University City. INFO.
Temple University IEI open house – Temple’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute is hosting an expo to show off its student-made businesses. Learn about the IEI programs and, if you haven’t already, check out brand new Alter Hall. Tuesday. 4:30 p.m. North Philly. INFO.
