TEDCO to Present Information on Technology Transfer and Commercialization Funding Opportunities

The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) will share details about technology transfer funding programs during a briefing to be held in Columbia, MD on Friday, Feb 11th from 2 - 3:30 pm. These state and federal funding programs provide financial support for the development of technologies for commercialization in collaboration with Maryland universities, business incubators, or federal laboratories. The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) will share details about technology transfer funding programs during a briefing to be held in Columbia, MD. These state and federal funding programs provide financial support for the development of technologies for commercialization in collaboration with Maryland universities, business incubators, or federal laboratories. These programs include:
•       Maryland Technology Transfer and Commercialization Fund (MTTCF)
•       TechStart
•       University Technology Development Fund (UTDF)
•       Maryland Stem Cell Research Fund (MSCRF)
•       Rural Business Innovation Initiative  (RBI2)
•       Power of Ten™ events
•       Joint Technology Transfer Initiative (JTTI) NEW!
The briefing will provide descriptions of the various funding programs, including eligibility requirements, guidelines for effective proposals, proposal submission processes, review processes and terms of the agreements. TEDCO also has a relationship with Johnson & Johnson Corporate Office of Science and Technology (COSAT) that can provide additional funding and support for biotech and life sciences companies.
Applications for funding programs are accepted continually and reviewed monthly by the TEDCO funding review team, which includes representatives from TEDCO, the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, affiliated venture capital groups and J&J COSAT. Applicants must submit a proposal, a commercialization plan for the technology to be developed, a scope of work and a budget.
