How do you make your website run quickly and smoothly? Tom Barker wants to show you.

Barker, head of UI Engineering at Comcast, has a new book called Pro Javascript Performance: Maintenance and Visualization.

Buy the book on Amazon here.

Here’s a quick rundown of what the book covers, according to Barker, who lives in Chalfont, Pa.:

  • Identifying the two core aspects of performance on the web, web performance (network latency, browser rendering) and run time performance
  • Create tools to track these results
  • Create data visualizations of these results for general consumption
  • Experiment with some best practices and measure our results

If you’re into it, keep your eyes on our Twitter account: we’ll be running a contest and the winner will get a free copy of the book.
