NYU Game Center is hosting an eSports throwdown Tuesday night

“We love to have scholars and important figures in the gaming community come talk to students. But it’s also great to have people just get out and play games, too.”

eSports are coming to New York tonight courtesy of Red Bull and the NYU Game Center.
Red Bull Clash Tournaments: Destiny, will feature of some of the top teams and players of “Destiny: The Taken King,” with the top eight fireteams heading to compete in the national final at the Red Bull eSports Studio in Los Angeles.
With their home base in Brooklyn, the NYU Game Center typically hosts all of its events in our favorite borough, but this event needed a venue of the right size, so the Game Center has to host in — gasp — Manhattan!
Regardless of the hosting borough, NYU Game Center spokeswoman Gwynna Forgham-Thrift said the event is incredibly important to the students.
“We love to have scholars and important figures in the gaming community come talk to students,” Forgham-Thrift said. “But it’s also great to have people just get out and play games, too.”
The gaming starts at 6 p.m., and anyone not in attendance can follow the action by checking out #clashcourse on Twitter.
