Popular children’s musician Dan Zanes has released his Coney Island-inspired song “Wonder Wheel” as a ‘Mibblet’ to complement Williamsburg’s Mibblio app for kids.
Inside the app, children are treated to a series of illustrations that go along with the song, text of the lyrics to help them with reading and interactive features, such as guitar strings they can strum, extra musical instruments to turn on and off and a keyboard.
The app also has a button for looping back and playing the song over, because you know how kids like to play a song they like again and again? That’s the best.
The core app for the company is Mibblio. Download it for free for the 2-8 year old in your life (or yourself, we don’t judge) in the Apple store. It comes with one song. Other songs can be bought in the app for a dollar or two.
Soon, Mibblio will be releasing the song “The Disappointing Pancake” from 90s icon, Lisa Loeb, though the release date isn’t set yet. Hear her song here.
Mibblio was founded by Sammy Rubin and David Lieberman, two cousins. Their team of five works from a Williamsburg office and remotely, along with a list of contractors who help along the way. The app first launched in February 2013, and Lieberman described its launch as one in which the team was surprised by customer and media response. So they have continued to put out new mibblets to satisfy their growing customer base.
