Ticket sales end at 6 p.m. tonight for the Game Devs of Color Expo at the Microsoft Technology Center this Saturday.
“The concept of race affects everyone, yet people often avoid discussing it,” the event’s invitation reads. “This is especially true within the context of games. Join us for the 2016 Game Devs of Color Expo, a two-part event where we’ll explore the intersection of race and games!”
The expo was organized by the Brooklyn Gamery, and its cofounder Catt Small, whom we profiled in October.

The expo generated some Twitter outrage among members of the greater gaming community for being divisive — a reaction seen by many as part of simmering GamerGate frustrations.
Asking #indiedev's to tell you what % of their team is colored is ignorant and in poor taste. @BrooklynGamery #stop pic.twitter.com/MnGj021v4o

Nevertheless, the show goes on.
