Happy Memorial Day Philadelphia.
We hope you are lucky enough to take this day off and enjoy doing summer things. However, your Technically Philly event highlights never take a week off as there are always amazing tech events happening in our fair city. This week, Technically Philly is especially excited to co-sponsoring Random Hacks of Kindness, a weekend-long hackathon at Drexel University.
Elsewhere: Gamers gather and the Philly WordPress Meetup digs in to 3.2.
Random Hacks of Kindness reception: In case you didn’t notice, we’re excited about this Open Data Philly thing and what it means to Philadelphia. So allow us to invite you to enjoy a few drinks Random Hacks of Kindness the reception (that’s RHOK for the cool kids) at Indy Hall. There will be beer, wine and light refreshments. Friday. 6 p.m. Old City. RSVP.
WordPress Meetup: For all of the WordPress developers out there, it’s a big week. The latest edition of the content management system is being released, so the WordPress Meetup group is holding an education session complete with pizza. The new update means new features are now available for all of your favorite blogs. Oh, and Geekadelphia too. Tuesday. 7:00 p.m. Old City. INFO.
Philly IGDA meetup: After Gameloop and Philly Tech Week’s gamer expo, you can bet that Philly’s gamers have a lot to talk about. Also, Hipster City Cycle and Pulse were release this month. So join our city’s burgeoning video game community as they will surely be in a celebratory mood. Wednesday. 7:00 p.m. University City. INFO.
