Many of our events this week focus on the lighter side of summer. You know, that “drink beer and give blood” side. But please, not in that order.
Actually, you probably shouldn’t even think about doing those on the same day.
Medical disclaimers aside, this is your week to count all those job offers you received last week and go relax with your fellow techies. With three events to choose from, you might be motivated to speak only in alliteration.
Over at IndyHall the caring coworkers curate countless customers to contribute cruor. PhillyCHI and PANMA prepare a perfect picnic in a picturesque park. And PANMA and Center City Sips get together networking newcomers to nip nectar.
What does this all mean? Find out after the jump.
All events listed on the event calendar are free to attend. Be sure to check our complete calendar for more information, or follow us past the jump.
Monday, August 17: Just shy of turning two, IndyHall is holding its second blood drive in as many years. The coworking space is hoping to help alleviate the typical Summer slump in blood supplies. So head on over to National Mechanics for 10 a.m. to 2.p.m. and be sure to grab a bite to eat after donating, lest you feint in the streets. Though, as a bar in Old City, National is probably used to passed out techies on its front steps. 10 a.m. Old City. RSVP. [view more events]
Wednesday, August 19: Philly’s design all-stars are all gathering together at Thirteen to talk shop and network in the latest of the Center City Sips meetups. Join TP event calendar veterans PANMA and PhillyCHi along with five other organizations to learn how you can get involved. The event’s Web site advises you to dress professionally, and TP advises you to learn a good joke inolving CSS. 5 p.m. Center City. RSVP. [view more events]
Saturday August 22: Not satisfied with just one PANMA/PhillyCHI meetup? Then grab your whiffle ball set and head on up to Washington Crossing park where PhillyCHI, UsabilityNJ, UPA Delaware Valley and PANMA are hosting a user experience picnic. Expect the UX experts to gather around the grill and criticize the chef’s hotdog and burger layout. 1 p.m. Washington Crossing, Penn. RSVP. [view more events]
