Brooklyn internet artists get lauded by the Times

In her piece Finding Inspiration for Art in the Betrayal of Privacy published earlier this week, Times Magazine writer Jenna Wortham gave big ups to some Brooklyn artists we’ve been writing about for the last year plus here. In the piece, Wortham explores the recent trend in technology-based art toward a critical view of technology, particularly the seemingly unchecked power of data and surveillance.
“Art has the ability to be a mirror, reflecting back to us the world as it is, even if we’re not ready to see it,” Wortham writes. “Artists like Perry, Falaschetti and Onuoha are trying to awaken us from our complacency, pushing us to look beyond the blinding dazzle of our devices.”
