It’s always good to see a classical art form open itself up to new concepts, new technology and new collaborators.

That’s what’s happening with the new presentation of The Nutcracker at The Brooklyn Ballet, which has launched a crowdfunding campaign to pay for technological collaborations on the coming production.

Not only is the company bringing in a dancer known for popping and locking, but they are also bringing in the hackers at NYC Resistor to add LED lights to the dancer tutus.

The company seeks Kickstarter supporters to raise $10,000. They are 20% of the way there with 15 days to go.
