The president and CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce will step down in May after more than five years with the organization in various positions.
The Chamber said Andrew Hoan is leaving because his family is moving out of New York City. A search for a new executive will begin immediately, the Chamber said in a statement.
“As a result of Andrew’s leadership and the depth of management experience of the Chamber staff, I am pleased to report that all of our planned programing and events have been scheduled through the end of 2018,” Board Chair Denise Arbesu wrote in the statement. “I have no doubt that these activities will be flawlessly executed.”

Hoan’s departure comes after one of the Chamber’s biggest events recently, its Centennial Gala, which saw more than 1,000 of Brooklyn’s business leaders come together at the Marriott Hotel in Downtown Brooklyn.
