According to SEC filings, WizeHive, the cloud-based business applications startup founded by Dreamit partner Michael Leveinson, has just closed a $950,000 round of funding. Maybe it’s the reason the business can offer $250,000 in grants?
The Wall Street Journal reports that Emerald Stage2 Ventures has about $5 million remaining in its current fund.
MIGHT BE WORTH YOUR TIME
Tranzyme Pharma, a Quaker BioVentures company is having some trouble with its IPO. The company initially planned to offer shares at around $12 per share, but had to revise its forecasts to $4 per share. According to MarketWatch, this is the fifth time out of five that a biotech company has struggled in its IPO this year.
According to the Inky, Safeguard Scientifics is investing $25 million in PixelOptics. The company, based in Virginia, targets people with presbyopia, a condition in which the eye’s ability to focus on near objects worsens with age.
