The marketing and tourism organization is now on Spotify. Spokeswoman Jenea Robinson described the group’s three Philly playlists for us:

  1. Made in Philly – A mix of music created by artists born and/or raised in Philadelphia. Includes music from The O’Jays, Jill Scott, Chubby Checker, Teddy Pendergrass and more.
  2. Summer in Philly – Hits from various artists that you’ll hear live in Philadelphia this summer like Madonna, Erykah Badu and Billy Joel.
  3. The Rocky Run – A collection of high energy songs to prepare you run up those steps including “Eye of the Tiger” and “Born to Be Wild.”

We here at Technical.ly will tune into Summer in Philly today. (Yesterday was Country Western Wednesday, as determined by EIC Zack Seward, so anything other than that is welcome!)

Also, it made us think: it’d be cool to see playlists from other Philly startups and organizations, as a window into their culture.
Did you know that Old City gaming studio Cipher Prime plays Ginuwine’s “Pony” so much in the office that they use it as a unit of measurement? As in, “Man, that call took like five Ponies.” Now you know.
