First Round Capital is among the investors listed in Mightybell’s latest $2.1 million round. The Palo Alto-based company promises to be the “obvious next step in social media.” TechCrunch and the Wall Street Journal have more on Mightbell’s founder, a co-founder of Ning.

MIGHT BE WORTH YOUR TIME
CrossXPlatform, based in Audobon, has raised $700,000 according to a SEC filing. The company helps small businesses grow, according to its website. Our favorite part about the filing is that the company is located in Suite X.
Fantasy Sports developer FanDue has raised $4 million. The local connection? The company is used by Philly.com. A possible candidate for the company’s incubator, perhaps?
First Round Capital portfolio company Backupify has raised an additional $5 million round.
Safeguard Scientifics has scheduled its annual investor day next month in New York City. There, investors can hear about Safeguard’s partner companies. Unlike most other investment firms, Safeguard’s shares are publicly traded.
GIVE A GLANCE
Announced at the DreamIt Venutres kickoff, Take the Interview (Summer 2011, New York) has received $775,000 in seed funding from angel investors. The company is a video platform for employers to scan job seekers, similar to Async Recruiting out of Drexel University. We’ve been told that the company’s founder, Danielle Weinblatt wowed the crowd at Demo Day.
