With a packed roof deck party, Brooklyn-based coworking spot The Yard officially inaugurated its new spot on 11th Street, a half block south of Market Street. We first told you about plans for the expansion exactly one year ago.

Many of us got a first peek at the space during our Innovation Crawl in April, part of Philly Tech Week 2017 presented by Comcast. The company revamped four floors in their current building, which neighbors an upcoming location of Honeygrow.

Out of their other nine locations scattered across Brooklyn and Manhattan, their Philly spot (24,000 square feet) is sizeable: the biggest location spans 33,000 square feet in Manhattan.

Philly is the first out-of-state expansion for The Yard. D.C. and Boston spots are currently in development.

How will the space measure up against out-of-town giants like WeWork and MakeOffices and local camps like Benjamin’s Desk? Look out for our upcoming interview with founder Morris Levy.
